Thanks - David Emery encouraged me to try tea instead of coffee. I've done a couple of them for him. This one is going on a mahogany banjo - should look great!

I think so as well it will look great ! On it the tea has a really nice effect on this particular skin its one of my favorites

The first tea stained head I had was on the Sproull #5 and it had a reddish brown tone compared to coffee. I like it a lot and may be a little more subtle. Nice one John. David E.

This hide is mounted flesh-side-up (that is upside-down from a normal mounting).
It is standard to mount the grain side up. But sometimes the flesh side absorbs more color and is smooth enough to mount on top. It is a decision that you have to make in the mounting - which side will look and function best on top.
