Tested by clamping a large scrap of veneer between a pair of agricultural disk furrow plates, to see if thin plywood will bend in BOTH directions. Discoloration is due to my not having stripped and refinished the discs. When I do it for real, I'll put clear plastic sheets between the metal and the wood. The irregular scrap is 16 inches across. The large PRINGLES can is metal, more than a foot tall. Somebody said I needed a wastebasket with MY picture on it!
