Found in old sing out magazine first annual Topang canyon banjo & fiddle contest. I was leading singing during a break when the judges were tallying votes. I won the intermediate traditional division. 10 years old.

Banjo is an A.A. Farland. Bought off a non-player who had it in the closet for 28$.

Brings back memories.
My two sisters were there the 1st year. I didn't start going until the 2nd year, didn't play in the contest until the 3rd or 4th year. I won Beginning Traditional in the 4th or 5th year... We probably saw each other at least one of those times... I remember seeing Richard Greene, David Lindley and Taj Mahal there in the early years.
