Pete had heard about the creationist mantra that evolution was just a theory, thus the selection of the saying for the bumper sticker. When he appeared at Hugh's Room in Toronto, he shared how he gave them away at his concerts explaining how everyone needed to support strong science. I have one on my banjo case.

AMEN... yep, all for embracing reality and grandeur of The Natural World as revealed by the intellectually honest pursuits of the humble men and women using science and the light o' reason.
Really respect Pete for putting himself on the line for so many worthwhile endeavors, using his wonderful musical talents.
It never fails to amaze me how many folks just keep the blinders comfortably in place... seems like The Enlightenment never happened and they are stuck in a delusional time warp.
Oh well... the Universe continues to inexorably evolve, and it matters not what "creationists" or fundamentalists believe regarding their peculiar myths... unless they try to undermine science in the public domain. Then, they absolutely have my attention.
