Cheap tuner button repair pic 1

Posted 8/22/2013 5:10:05 PM

Since it's scarely worth buying just a 5th peg button for a "CHECKMATE" bottlecap banjo, I figured I couldn't make it any LESS usable by trying this. I mixed up some JB Weld, and put a thin layer of petroleum jellly on the shaft, and on a toothpick through the string hole. Slid the shaft into the button, and jammed in as much JB Weld as I could. The grease kept the shaft and toothpicks from sticking to the epoxy, and the toothpicks kept the epoxy out of the holes.
