You can see the maple and mahogany lamellae here. Note the thickness of the interior and exterior mahogany lamellae; no veneer used here!. The two maple lamellae that form the raised portion of the rim on which the tone ring sits never make it to the bottom edge of the rim, owing to its declivity.
