Fair warning -- you will fall head over heels in love with that banjo. If you haven't already, you'll soon discover how versatile it is. It works really well with old time and folk music styles.

I bought mine in 2010 and wouldn't part with it for anything. My only modification was to replace the no-knot tailpiece with a Kerchner, but that was strictly a matter of personal choice. Depending on playing circumstances, I'll put a piece of foam rubber between the inner co-rod and the head, right below the neck...this helps to mellow out the tone for recording and such.

Long necks are addictive. Never sell it .... I really miss any of the three I used to own! Color me stupid for ever selling any of them.

Very nice Gumbo -I have the same one so I'm biased towards Gold Tone, at least for a beginer like me. (Im the piano player). I am currently trying Seeger style rather than rolls. I two the foam mentoned above.
