Guys, not a triumph, Lambretta series 1 [1959], happy days indeed. I built this on a shoe string forgoing food, rent, clothes, everything. It took about 3 years in all [money] and I rode at all over the UK, it was quite quick and handled surprisingly well.....at least it did when i was 17...not sure i'd feel the same way about it now!

I had a few of these Frank a TV175 & an SX200. Stripped em down more time's then i can remember. I wish i had kept them looking at what they sell for these day's. Both the TV & SX are sort after more then the GPs.

Alfie, damn right on every level! especially the price of the series 3s. I can not believe an SX200 in half decent nick will sell for upwards of £6k, i recall buying an italian GP150 for £50 {1986 0r 7}, then riding it to weston super-mare from Norfolk two days later. My brother recently bought an italian GP125, unregistered and in need of a total restoration for a whopping 2 grand....if only i had the benefit of hindsight i'd have kept them all, [i had 40 over the period of a decade or so....sigh].

Oh, and yes, the TV gearboxes had a long third and short 4th with a very close ratio between the two. Made them the ideal road/race gearbox. You seen the price of one of those babies these days [yikes!].
You got any pics of your old scooters?

Yeah somewhere frank i will dig em out, and scan em (not digital them days) My sx200 cost me 80 quid, then countless hour's on my Mum's kitchen floor stripped down :-)
