these girls have personality Lloyd....it really shows thru in your work. just curious, have you ever tried Clayboard? its a clay-coated masonite panel, in smooth or rough texture.

Thanks, Randy. I enjoyed doing my second cousins' portrait and it is now hanging in their house and they love it. I haven't tried clayboard but have seen it at Hobby Lobby. The Ampersand pastelbord is also a surface on masonite panel and works very well for pastels. Appreciate you comments.

ive used the ampersand board before....mostly for colored pencil. i like the clayboard for my duck paintings, because you can actually scratch the clay off with a razor...needle..etc. for detail. then wash color back into the scratches. im painting mostly on vellum now...which isnt very forgiving....but i love the matty look it has. nice talking to you Lloyd.
