Is one 11" and one 12", or is that just the picture?

It is just the photo. Both are 11" rims.
1143 is a full scale neck. 1143 is an a-scale.

John, very nice and good condition. I saw a bacon once that resembled these and it had a tone ring, I believe, that made it heavy for its size. So these are not like that?

These are like the Bacon design. They do have Bacon spun (thin) brass tone rings. But the rim is relatively thin two-ply maple and the resonator adds only a little weight.
I guess "heavy" is relative. I think these banjo are not heavy compared to something with a thicker 3-ply or block rim, and a cast or thick brass tone ring.
But ... I'm sure they would be heavier than some, thin-rim, all-wood banjos etc.

I ordered the A-scale in 2004. It is a "true" a-scale same length as if usiung a capo at the 2nd fret.
