I busked in Halifax last summer and fall.
The waterfront by the ferry terminal and Pier 21 made me a lot of money.
Also, the market at the Brewery building on Saturday mornings.
You're on Brunswick St. there, right? I can see The Halifax Folklore Center behind you. I've got an 1882 openback banjo there being restored...you're welcome to go in and play it (if they have it finished...I don't get down there much lately:C

There's a woman who owns a used clothing store at the end of the street behind you. You gals should hook up and jam!

Funny story your pic reminded me of... I was staying at a hotel in Cleveland, OH, a long time ago and I went outside to the gazeebo to practice so I would'n't bother the folks in the rooms next to me. I left my case open and people that were on they're way to the laundry room would look but not stop. That is until this elderly couple stopped and listened for a time and then threw 5 bucks in my case! I tried to tell them that I was staying at the hotel and that I was just out here to practice at full volume. The old man turned around and said..."well, if your staying at this hotel, you're gonna need it." LOL
