Microphone pop filter

Posted 4/24/2012 2:34:14 PM

Three feet of 1/8" brass rod and a 4 by 6 3M stripping pad makes a nice pop filter. Look for the extra course pad that you can actually see through. Form the frame as shown. An extra circular loop is soldered where the mic ferrule will screw in place. Two small bnrass washers and a cross bar make it really sturdy. Sharpen the rod ends, roll the pad into a curve and poke it over the upturned rods. The nice thing about this one is (A) it is cheap, and (B) it stays in position as the mic is moved. Oh yeah, it works REALLY well!
