ME TOO!!! I'm going on vacation in NC in June and hope to spend a day meeting and visiting with Roy and seeing the work in progress at that point. We've been planning this puppy for a year now and he's been working on it a few months already. I'm hoping he gets it done by my birthday in August. I've got a couple of banjo builds of my own that have been in progress for decades that I want to get back to working on, too, but...time is a problem for that until I can retire. I wish I had a shopsmith, in fact. Instead, I have a couple of home built tools, etc.

my birthday is in August too! the 18th here =) I got my shopsmith on craigslist for a great deal; I recommend it if you don't have much room, but it can be a hassle to change around from tool to tool. I'm a long, long way from even thinking about retiring (i'll be 24 this year), so I know what you mean about the time factor, but building sure is fun ain't it?
