Nile Street and The David Lewis Hotel, Liverpool

A Trip Down Memory Lane...
A view down Nile Street showing the David Lewis Hotel on the right (c)1960. This area was cleared for road widening and redevelopment duting the 70's and now the only original building that survives to this day is the gothic styled building at center picture. The liverpool Anglican catedral is to the rear of the protographer.

Yes I remember it ok, somewhere just behind photographer was a pub run by an Irish coleen, and one night after time as she literally threw a few out, she looked at me and said " aart youve a bit o irish about cher", refering to a green ganzie I had on and a good night was had by one an all, mostly Irish customers, fiddlers to, as I remember the docks was further down on the left, behind the photographer again, it was a great place to be then for fun and frolics, whats it like now?...brian g...
