This is a typical Vega cut headstock but it has an ebony face plate a little thicker than one might see on an old Vega and in particular the headstock on the S style melody banjo neck from 1922. I asked Dan Knowles if this matters. This is when Dan pushed back an observation that I have used in banjoism discussion and business presentations; Dan said " everything matters." I found this to be interesting and telling aspect of Dan's philosophy on building banjos. Actually I have found it to be an important thing to consider in anything that one does in most things and his comment is key to doing anything well.
