Henry Tanner's 1893 work, Banjo Lesson, is incredible, isn't it! The parallels to Mary Cassatt's contemporary painting with the same title is really interesting. Are you the one who sent this to Jim recently?

Trish, very nice picture and Jim sure is proud of it either way. We spoke of this together and I felt his appreciation for whoever sent it.

Hi There, No I'm afraid I can't take credit for sending this picture to Jim, I have had it as my background picture on my laptop for many years it is beautiful, I agree Janet, the parallels are interesting, But I much prefer Tanner's use of colors to bring the light coming from either side of the room as though to form a halo around the man and boy. Wonderful picture.
