Shouldn't the top beam be vertical? It may sag eventually, the way it is. Maybe just add another to the backside.

I just built it like I do my walls in the house.
I didn't bother to match the studs to the joists cause it's just a porch.
Me and my friends were jumping up and down on it and it passed with flying colors.
I'll let you know if it ever sags.

I just worry about my friends falling down through something rotten.
We can build anything we want on top of the ground using only our imagination(no permits).

Steve - if you're worried about sag you could sister 2X8's vertically to the front or back (or front and back) of the top beam. That would also stabilize it more from side to side.

I don't think those 2x8 plates,studs or stringers on 16" are going anywhere.
