Thanks so much! I had a lot of fun doing them - it was with a real camera from the 1870s using wetplates - just an amazing experince! That's my banjeaurine in the photo and a borrowed fretless from the late 1800s.
Once I get my new lyon and healy washburn up and runnin', as it were, I'm going to have to get new photos with it!

These photos are just too cool. One thing I noticed, however, is that all the pictures are either mirror images of the real subject matter, or all the banjos photographed were left-handed models. I'd read somewhere that, due to the limitations of the very early wetplate process, photographs of that era were reverse of their true image (e.g., the outlaw Billy the Kid appeared in a photo wearing a pistol on his left hip -- he was reported to be right handed). Can you shed some light on this? Again, GREAT shots! Do some more photos when you get the time.

Thanks for the nice comments! They are indeed right handed and the photo process reverses the image. I am gearing up to do some more photos and am planning on painting backdrops.. the backdrops (including lettering) have to be reversed to show up correctly.
