Two Necks

Posted 8/25/2011 6:25:54 PM

Here are two versions of the same neck. The cherry neck is built for a person who primarily plays the banjo and so the G and B strings are where they'd be on a banjo; the maple neck is drilled for a person whose main instrument is the guitiar, and so the G and B strings are where they'd be on a guitar. Both are laminated from multiple pieces of wood for strength and stability. The cherry neck is actually made from 17 pieces of wood (counting the fingerboard).
