Less than a hundred years ago, combines in this region were pulled by forty horse teams. It took two to three hours in the morning to prep the horses. The front of the team was so far out in front that the drivers had to use B-B guns to control the lead horse.

We have a good size Amish community here in Ohio. I always enjoy watching them use multi-horse teams in the fields. Never seen 40-horse teams though!!!!!!!!!!
