I've actually switched over mostly to the nickel silver insert. I'd love to see a piece of snakewood.

Ken does this do the same thing as the ZERO FRET.....would Stainless Steel make a good insert

Yes, It is the same thing, and stainless steel would work just fine.
If you cut the "nut" part properly, you can use a piece of fret wire.
