Got the idea for this instrumental while moving at 20mph, hanging in the corner on my Shorttrack (ice) speedskates. Nowadays I'm happy when I'm breaking the 15 mph barrier, at all.... It's in D, utilizing standard G tuning.

This one wrote itself, shortly before we recorded 'True Companions' as Heartstrings & Friends (1995). One of those friends was Theo Lissenberg, who started playing with us after an impromptu session at his home, when he showed us the A5-L mandolin that was to become mine by the end of the evening... I thought it appropriate to name it after our, then, new trio 'Skyland' The recording however still was a duo effort, Elly on bass and me taking care of the rest... The tab is in my Photo/Tab section

This is my compressed (1'13;")version of this famous song from the seventies... I knew I'd always be singing off-key when listening through headphones. Then why was I trying to record dobro that way? I have no valid answer....

This guy plays with metal fingerpicks and a plastic thumbpick. I think so, because: As you can hear the first note (last note m.2:1st string open - middle) is bright, the second (first note m.3: 3rd string open - thumb) is rather dull and the third (second note m.3: 3rd string open - index) is bright again. Tab is in my photos section, tabs, Somebody touched me - intro (tag -3).

The first measure of the tag at the end of the intro. Switch on repeat and play along. I've amplified the 2nd, 4th and 6th notes to bring out they're all 3rd string 2nd fret Tab is in 'my photos', tab section, STM, 3rd attempt. I can't play this at the full tempo of the original. But then, so can't the guy who did it in the first place, as you can hear him stuttering through the lick. ;-)

My Elly wrote this one shortly after finishing recording the rest of the material for our bluegrass/old time trio Skyland's CD. Our friend Theo Lissenberg, who sang and played with us in that group, was terminally ill by that time. He was so happy he managed to record the other songs and tunes. She wrote it for him and we recorded it in this 'missing man' formation. Just Elly & me with our guitar & mandolin. Theo approved it to be put on the CD and make it the title track. So we did. Theo didn't live to the presentation of the album in May 2003, however. We'll never forget him.

I wrote this one shortly before recording the album Below Sea Level with the trio Reckless Fingers (1985-1991) I arranged it only days before recording it at home on my Tascam 1/2" 8 track analog taperecorder. And if you wonder why the banjo sounds so clangy, it's the Iida, not the RB-1... Tab is in my photoalbum, tab section.
