This is a song written by Walter Absher who played Mandolin, Guitar & Fiddle. We played in the Saturday Session Band together for a while in Atlanta. He's a talented player and I always liked his original stuff

I always found this to be a fun tune to play. Some say it was penned by Henry VIII. Given his propensity to cast off the head of the young ladies he married, it seems the lyric: "Alas my love you do me wrong to cast me off discourteously" to be entirely out of character.....
