Musical comedy movie ''High Society,'' was a big hit in 1956, featuring cast toppers Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Grace Kelly, and Louis Armstrong And His All Stars. This song was sung by Bing Crosby, telling of his love for ''Samantha'' who was played by Grace Kelly .... it was her last movie appearance, .... as she was soon to be '' Princess Of Monaco.'' In 1961, ''Kenny Ball and his Jazmen,'' also had a no.1 hit in the UK with their trad version of ''Samantha.'' I'd like to thank my friend Marco, for collaborating with me, in making our audio clip a reality!. And thanks f' tunin' in. ps. Marcos on tenor banjo, and yours truly on plectrum banjo.

Friends, I don't usually discuss personal issues on the Hangout, but I've got to make an exception in this case. Banjo Hang Out member Trevor Fielder, sadly and suddenly passed away on the 5th of December last year. He was my best mate, and will always remain so. My computer know how is hopeless, so thankfully, Trev posted all my videos and Mp3's, from day one, for me, here on the Hangout. Trev was one of the toughest blokes I've ever met, as strong as a mallee bull, but behind his huge frame, stood the most compassionate, caring, gentle giant of a man imaginable!. R.I.P. Trevor. Hopefully all of you out there, have similar dear friends in your lives, past and present ... so I'd like to dedicate this song, to simply ''Friendship.'' As Burt Bacharach wrote it, and Carole Bayer Sager put it .... ''IN GOOD TIMES, IN BAD TIMES, I"LL BE ON YOUR SIDE FOREVER MORE, THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR." that's for sure. Key F, tuning CGBD. Thanks for your interest, ... Don.

Acker Bilk & The Paramount Jazz Band, recorded this back in 1963. This is in support of a forum topic posted by sethb, some months ago, for the chord changes to Climax Rag. At that time I didn't have this recording, but thanks to the wonder of the internet, here it is, and it's hot!. Don.
