My goal with this simple tune was to play it in a straight forward manner - even in tempo and clean in tone. It took quite a few attempts to get it right.

A fun, driving tune to play. Originally written for mandolin, it was first made popular as a banjo tune by Larry Sparks and more recently covered by Billy Strings.

This is my version of Jim Reed's (jimh269b) "Donnie's Way Home". As I learn mostly by ear, it's come out quite a bit different than his. Hope you like it.

This is the most well known of Erik Satie's 3 Gymnodepies. Written in the late 1880's, it is considered to be one of the most tranquil piano pieces ever written. Arrangement by Tom Arri.

I recorded and mixed 3 banjo tracks to create this banjo version of 'In the Cave'. This piece of music was written by the Finnish band Pepe Deluxe specifically to be played on the Great Stalacpipe Organ in the Luray Caverns in Virginia - (a recording of that is available on YouTube). While not a great piece of music, it is at once haunting and alluring. The structure of the piece is simple: a continuous 3 note arpeggio (adagio sostenuto), very similar to that found in Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, with a simple melody and sparse base line. It is in A minor and has a 12/8-time signature. Enjoy.

Peter Seeger wrote this pretty tune for the 12 string guitar sometime back in the 50's or 60's. Leo Kottke played and recorded an 'over the top' long version and it has more recently been covered by the pianist George Winston. This is my melodic style banjo version.

Erroll Garner's classic - tab arrangement by Vincent Sadovsky. The arrnagement is OK but I like Jim Carrier's (BHO member) a lot better. If anyone has it or knows where I can get it, I'd appreciate it if you would get in touch with me. Thanks for listening!

This is one of my favorite Robert Frost poems - Reluctance. I am reciting it over my banjo rendition of Gymnopedie No.1, a piano piece written by the French composer Erik Satie in 1888.
