This tune was written by Bill DeMarcus, banjo player for Chubby Anthony's Tall Timber Bluegrass Band from Florida. Chubby was a great fiddle player and also a really good banjo player. Their band was very popular at Festivals back in the 1970s when I lived down there. I'm just starting to learn the tune. Bill DeMarcus is a great banjo player. Robert

I particularly like how Ricky Skaggs sings this song on the original New South Album; and JD's break is superb! Robert

I love this tune!; a great one to "warm-up" on. I played this one without picks. Sometimes it's good to play without picks; it gives you a good "feel" for the instrument. Robert

This is a 2nd generation recording onto my MP3 digital recorder; so, it may have some extraneous sounds that distract....I love this song and the way Ray Price performed it....it's a lovely, sad song....Robert

A variation of the first Progression with Band-in-a-Box background.....I'm still in the process of learning how to use the Band-in-a-Box Program that has a "Bluegrass" soloist component. It's difficult to learn how to use it...but it has immense potential....Robert

I recorded this for my friend Kerth so he could hear my "vamping" during the Band-in-a-Box "break"....Kerth has always been my best student for the last 30 years.

This has Band-in-a-Box background music accompanying my playing G, C, D, Am, Em Progressions; very useful for timing and improvisational practice. There are infinite ways of playing these progressions; they are fun! Robert

I wrote this tune in 1972 while living in Columbus, Ohio. We were sick of the city and needed to get back into the country; hence, this tune. I recorded it at Appalachian Recording Studios, Ross County, Ohio. John Call was featured on the Pedal Steel.

James Dockery taught me this tune. He was a great, great banjo player! I spent hours and hours with him and I just was amazed at his talent. His kids are the same way! I finally deciphered his main rolls and that was a great moment for me! One of his most important rolls was T-I-M-T-I-T-I-M; one you hardly ever see in the tabs; but to me is one of the most important along with I-M-T-I-M-T-I-M & T-I-M-T-M-I-T-M Robert Long

My favorite performance of this tune is Sonny Osborne's on his Bluegrass Concerto Album; that's as good as it can be played in my opinion! It was an excellent album! Very creative
