1892 S S Stewart "Universal Favorite #1" S/N 9348 w/Nylgut strings.
Old Gretsch open-back; several home-made gourd fretted & unfretted banjos;
home-made Cello Banjo (octave lower). Been playing old-time fiddle for over 40 years. Love it. Other instruments played include Highland Bagpipe, Hurdy Gurdy,
Upright Bass, Guitar, Scottish Smallpipes, etc etc. Proficient with some more than others. Been clawhammering for decades, but just got serious about it when I retired from Mackinac Island State Parks (at Ft. Mackinac on Mackinac Island) in 2006.
