Playing Since: 2002
Experience Level: Novice
Interests:
[Socializing]
Occupation: Retired
Gender: Male
Age: 82
My Instruments:
Gold Tone BG-250, Gold Tone Whyte Layde, (mostly) and Deering Maple Blossom. The Laydee just cries out to be played. The Maple Blossom plays like a dream, but I almost get a double herrnia putting it on. Sat night when we jam, I always use the Layde because I can make mistakes and get away with it. With the Deering, there's no place to hide!
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
The Osborne Brothers, and the Moron Brothers (really quite gifted muscians).and Stanley Bro.

Forced retirement due to Parkinson's disease. I love the banjo, its the best insturument ever made. Wrote that 4 years ago. Still feel the same. Also play guitar and piano (and trumpet as a high school student). Persuared my Mom to let me trade in the trumpet for a used guitar. Turns out it was a Gibson and worth a lot. But I like my Alvarez guitar and get nothing but compliments (on the instrument) when playing it. On Sat nights only use banjo now.
