I'm also known by some as "Greg Lasser". Started playing banjo in 1959. Business machine mechanic from 1962 - 1971. Learned pedal steel in 1970 and eventually became a full-time musician playing steel & banjo. Sold the banjo (1934 Granada) in 1985. I still play the steel and have just recently become re-interested in banjo after not playing one for 25 years. I've resided in San Francisco since 1962 but grew up in Manhattan, thus The Boy From New York City or tbfnyc.
