Washburn B18 Archtop

Just wandering if any one out there could answer this. I have an archtop b18 with a clear head and a radically thined down bridge. Would changing the head to a frosted make a significant differance to the tone(even if the current head is brand new)?. Also what bridge do you guys recommend for an archtop & do you recommend thinning down the bridge? Any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated as its hard to come by any info where i live.
