clifford essex banjos of norfolk england

hi everybody, i don't know if you're familiar with clifford essex banjos from norfolk. i am i brought one of his most expensive banjos which i paid £850 4,when i received it i took it around true a friend of mine who is i renounce banjo player and has been teaching for 15 years he took 1 look at the banjo and said you could buy one better for £50 the block work inside the head was all filled with polyfillathe tuning pegs after 2 weeks the mechanism fell to pieces i had to replace them because they were so cheap so i ask for another one,it was recommended to me by the ownerthat he would give me £100 back and downgrade to a clifford essex classic which is no better,then the first 1 so i have paid for £750 out for a banjo that's en3 peoples professional opinion is not worth more than £50 even in the second banjo the tuning pegs were abouts £16 a set as they all fell to pieces as well,so please before you pay extraordinary amounts of money for a clifford essex banjo go and buy a £50 1 first to see how it soundsbecause it was so much better than a clifford essex i can assure you. 1 comment
