Beginners Jamming Tunes

Evening all, Thanks for this website to chat. I have been learning to play for about 6 months now. Still learning on making the smooth transitions between rolls, chords, licks and some tabs that I know. When I feel comfortable enough to being jamming, I don't know if different regions have favorite tunes that they play together. What would you suggest which tunes I should be familiar with to join in the jam session? I live in Illinois, USA. Any suggestions. Thanks
