I've been playing 5-string bluegrass picking for years. I'm mostly into Christmas songs and church hymns at this point in my life (long story).
I'm thinking about expanding my horizons and picking up either a tenor or a plectrum banjo. (I'm not into clawhammer.) Here again, the genre would be Christmas songs and hymns. Can't decide on which banjo to choose or even the correct style (strum vs. picking, although I'm leaning toward strumming, Dixieland style, assuming that would be easier to pick up).
I would appreciate any counsel before I purchase (another) banjo.
