i'm in my late 80's. I used to play 5-string banjo (bluegrass) a lot in my 50s and but haven't played in over 20 years. I gave my banjo to my Granddaughter and just recently purchased an inexpensive instrument called a Backyard Banjo. Is it possible to relearn these skills or would it be like starting over (which wasn't too bad). I was playing clawhammer when I stopped . My memory and agility are still pretty good which I think might be a benefit. I used tablature.
