I taught myself to play during the mid 1970's biding my time in the Air Force in Georgia. I learned from the "Earl Scruggs and the Five String Banjo" book. Yes I played many songs on 33 1/3 to slow the songs down to decifer the notes, something you can't do with todays CDs. Then life happened and my banjo and case grew dusty - until I heard the AKUS and Ron Blocks clear and invigorating playing. I dusted off the banjo and then found this website. I couldn't believe how technology had even found it's way into teaching Banjo through the tablature downloads - absolutely amazing! If I'd only had that back 30 years ago. As my time is freeing up some now I look forward to playing more, meeting new folks and learning new licks with this new technology and forums. Great Website!!
