I currently live in Te Aroha, Waikato NZ. I love to play five string banjo in the melodic clawhammer style. I taught myself in the early 90's with the aid of a Ken Perlman book and tape set . I had to stop playing banjo about 15 years ago due to a shoulder condition and sold my beautiful Recording King open back about 8 years ago. I recently found that a lighter weight Deering Goodtime Artisan is easier to carry especially capo'd at the 2nd fret for less arm stretch, so I'm playing again :-)
