last week i purchased a 60,s kay banjo on the cheap,its the one that has the music stand on it and its a tenor 5 string.Ive changed the tone ring to a brass,put a ren.elite head on and med. strings,set the whole thing up and i cant believe the tone and the strength of it.i looked at comments from previous forums and i was surprised i know they were a cheap banjo but they were being said they were garbage by owners of older banjos that were throwing names around like laydie this and lady that saying maybe someday you would be able to get a real banjo ,well i,ll tell you this i would put the tone coming from each of those 5 strings up against any of those older expensive banjos ,they might be older,more expensive,but they might sound like ...t
