I grew up in a family bluegrass band in Springfield, Missouri. After teaching high school for seven years and working for the Girl Scouts a couple of years, I served on staff at IBMA in Owensboro and Nashville for 20 years. I'm currently working as executive director for the IBMA Foundation, which supports bluegrass-related education programs and initiatives through philanthropy and planned giving. Check out our website at bluegrassfoundation.org. I play acoustic bass, rhythm guitar, hammered dulcimer, sing and write songs. I've been a music journalist since around 1980. I've performed with a number of bands in MO, KY and TN. The one you would recognize is Jesse McReynolds and his Virginia Boys. I am married to a banjo player, Bob Webster, who is also a member of this group. My first husband, Frank Erdos, who died in 1989 from cancer, was a banjo player from Connecticut.
