I started playing 4 string banjo when I was 14 back in 1964. After a few years my interests changed and my banjo stayed in a closet for nearly 50 years, no joking. Since I retired a short while ago I decided to take out the banjo and start over again and I am now taking lessons on my new 5 string banjo and also restringed my 4 string banjo with Irish strings. I did this since my wife plays harp and we both like Irish ( Celtic ) music. I also own a Hammered Dulcimer and a badrahn. I am hoping that when we go back to Ireland in 2017 that I will be able to jam with the locals.
