Hello Everyone, I'm new to the banjo and am glad there is a site like this! I'm sure there are many, many helpful tips on here and lots of good advice. I want to give a special shout out to a man I met the other night....Dean Jenks. I'm sure some of y'all on here know him. He spent 3 HOURS with me and gave me "homework". It was truly an honor to meet him and spend time with him. I felt like a kid in a candy store listening to his stories about Earl and Horace, actually getting to hold and pick a banjo that Earl played, seeing pictures of Earl....it was amazing! Oh, and listening to Dean play some amazing banjo! Anyway, I look forward to talking with some of you on here. Happy Picking!
PS: I'm not a spokesperson for the new Earl Scruggs Center in Shelby, NC but I think its going to open soon. I think it's going to be a fine museum and I'm sure every bluegrass lover will want to visit.
