Hello out there
In june 2008 I was shopping in Alexandria together with family, and I paid a short visit to a
music store and saw a 5-string banjo lying on the table in the middle of the store.
I touched it briefly, to make it sound. An that sound was very special.
The best way to describe it is "Cookie tin box"-sound as opposite to traditional "wooden" banjo-sound.
As far as I remember, It had a transparent top, and the front and inside looked very metal-like.
I think it had the name "Fender" on the pegboard, but I cannot find one picture on the internet
showing a Fender banjo like it.
So may be some one just put a label on saying Fender, or maybe I have forgotten.
In the meantime I have obtained an old aluminum 5-string "Merlin" banjo, like Luke Kelly in Dubliners
user to play on. And the sound was close to this.
Can anybody give me a hint of, what kind banjo a saw, and where to find one like it?
Jens
