I started playing banjo on a whim, simply because the desire was floating in the air, and promptly had it take over my life. Since then I've accidentally become an actual musician, instead of the Artist Slash Performer I saw myself as before. I use clawhammer as a technique but am in no way tied to straight ahead fiddle tunes. I love old time, passionately actually, but my influences and preferences are too varied.
