I am a newly single father of two wonderful little girls (ages 5 & 7). They live with their mother in Albuquerque NM most of the year, but spend the summer with me. I started learning the banjo right after they went back to their mother a few weeks ago (Aug 6, 07). My girls love bluegrass, so I plan to learn all I can and surprise them when they are home for Christmas. My oldest used to think that the bluegrass CD's would be the color blue :-) I've never learned an instrument before, so I'm taking this from the ground up. I'm really enjoying it, so that's the main thing to me. I was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and currently reside in the Lynchburg, VA area. I've spent my whole life in VA except my time in the Navy, when I lived in San Diego (6 months) and on the island of Oahu (3 1/2 years) I went to Blue Ridge Community College and Old Dominion University after the Navy and I work as a manufacturing engineer.
