Hi everyone out there
I am new to this (banjo playing) and have always wanted to learn the banjo. I have played a guitar for several years (saelf tourt) and have always picked either a two or three finger roll together with the thumb bashing out the base rythem (banjo style). This has not been too much of a problem because the size of the neck of the instrument has always accomodated the size of my reasonable large hands and fingers so chording has not been too hard.
Trying to play the banjo, well I now have an issue with the width of the neck , my hands and the trying to chord the banjo without mutting the strings because of touching them or not holding them down correctly. Has anyone, in the world, got any solution to helping me out on this one please. I am getting on a bit now (63) but do not see that as being a problem with trying to learn my dream instrument. So, what do I do, give it up and revert back to the guitar or try harder?
Any help would be very much appreciated as I am also new to this web site.
Kind regards to everyone out there and I might get some response from the world of beautiful music players.....
