I'm new here, so I don't know if I'm even asking this in the right place. I have a banjo that a relative got from someone in the early 80s (don't know when or where the person who gave it to her got it) but I can't find any info. on it.
On the back of the peg head there is a sticker labeled M-114, I'm assuming this is the model? On the front of the peg head there is the word Mountain, which is usually the place for the brand, but online I could not find anything about "Mountain" brand instruments. On the bottom of the finger board is the word masterpiece, but I could not find much on that either.
I also took the resonator off of the head (cherrywood, if that is helpful) and looked all over the place for a serial number, but I couldn't find anything. Why is there no serial number here, and why can I not find the brand? Anyone have any information on this?
