Learned bluegrass from Earl's book in 1973 at age 15 when I moved to NY City with family from Tennessee. Discovered the Guitar Workshop in Roslyn, LI and learned how to play old time from Jeff Davis and Jeff Warner. College at UT Knoxville in the late 70's playing for dances on Monday nights and doing festival stuff in the summers. Quit playing while raising children and now the last one has left for college. Found a nice used Mike Ramsey Whyte Layde this fall and I'm playing again.
