I found old-time fiddle music via my love of the Grateful Dead in the late 70's, followed by a penchant for bluegrass in the 80's and 90's. When I discovered the music that begat the music of Bill Monroe AND Jerry Garcia, I found a well-spring of music that has filled my soul ever since. My wife and I love, and play, the music of the Appalachian mountains. The older, the better.
