Hi, I'm Joe and I learned to pick the banjer about 7 years ago. I started out with Earl, and then I heard Ralph and Don Stover pick it the old time mountian way-I ain't never gone back since-I pick both clawhammer and three finger and try to get it as lonesome as I can, cause thats the way it otta sound. I've picked with Alex Leach and Larry Gillis of the orginal Gillis Brothers, and the Bluegrass Mountaineers out of Ohio. All these fellas treated me right and really do a great job all the time. If you want to hear some really good old time mountain style look out for Tom Isaacs, he's the best! Recently been privileged to play with Larry Gillis, truly an honor and awesome oppurtunity. Larry just like a dad to me and I would never let him down, really been one of the best things thats ever happened to me. Thanks, Larry!!!
