Hi Members, My father brought back from WWII (perhaps Germany) a B&D four-string banjo inscribed with B&D Serenader Silver Bell that has inscribed on the pedal PAT. APRIL 14, 1931, B& D SOFT PEDAL. He said it was a left-handed banjo, but I don't know if that is accurate. If you held the banjo with the neck to your left, the soft pedal is facing your lap, if you are sitting. The back of the banjo is a beautiful, heavily varnished dark wood. The banjo hasn't been played since he returned from the war--no one in the family knows how to play it! It seems a shame to have it sitting in the closet in its original purple velvet-lined case. I have tried looking on ebay for a similar banjo and googling, but I guess I don't know enough about banjos to find any info. Can you help me or direct me to a website/dealer in Cincinnati that could give me the value of the banjo? I would like to sell it for a fair price. Thanks for any help that your members can give me. Barb
