Well, the New Year is here, 2015 is upon us. It’s a bit of a tradition for me to make a big batch of vegan chili on new years and invite friends over, though it’s a bit difficult to come across all the ingredients I like to use here in Thailand I was able to scrap something together. I like to slow cook my chili so that meant I had about 6 hours of time to wait before friends started to come by it could be consumed. I was able to spend most of that time either listening to some clawhammer banjo music or, more importantly, practicing clawhammer style on my banjo. I really feel like learning the banjo has helped me, first by learning something new and giving me new creative ways to think about something. And of course it’s nice to be able to practice and take my mind of things and refresh a bit. Being able to ring in the New Year with so much banjo going on was a fun thing, and I hope this year is full of a lot of great banjo moments.
